Candid Interview with CEO of Autism2Ability – Ray Miller
Why did you choose to work with autism?
Basically, it was a call. The call from a man who has a grandson named Sam,
who is on the spectrum, non-verbal, high functioning. We had, in another
business, some expertise with touch screen technology, and this gentleman
convinced me that we needed to do something to help the non-verbal children
communicate.
As I grew in observations in classrooms, I could see that there was a huge
need for some type of technology that could give the teachers an
opportunity to have an automatic tracking mechanism and so that they had
more time. They do all that, they track all of that manually.
And I think as I got more and more into it, it definitely became a higher
calling. No question about it. So many of these children, and I will say
this, they all have the potential to perform, and to me that’s probably one
of the biggest driving factors of me being involved with these children
